working girl, part 8: the move
Two weeks ago, I got a tour of the new office. We’ll be occupying a whole floor of a lovely building on the Chicago River. At the end of today, movers will begin taking our stuff over to the new space.
My new desk is next to a window. I believe I will have a view of the guest rooms at the Hotel Monaco. If I see any nudity, I will totally let you know contact the authorities before donning a face veil for modesty’s sake.
My cube is almost all packed up. At 3pm I’m shutting this all down, taking my laptop home for the weekend, and revising my list of places to eat near the new office.
Last week, I visited the head office in St. Louis for a few days to meet folks in the IT group. Also I got to experience some of the densest, richest humidity I’ve ever had the honor of being in.
I won’t write about STL here, but will do so next week on my neglected Wordpress blog, This Is Jasmine, when I remember to do so.
